Dr. Karen Bloch

Dr. Erika Figge

Dr. Karen Bloch goes above and beyond your typical chiropractor and athletic trainer. She is the owner of Bloch Chiropractic, Wellness and Sports Medicine which is a cutting edge performance center with two locations. She is also the co-owner, with Erika Figge, of Complete Koncepts, a business aimed at injury prevention and creating personalized programs for teams and athletes. Dr. Bloch has a passion for getting to the root of a problem and not only fixing it, but also preventing a reoccurrence.

An athlete at heart, it was during her time as a Division I basketball player that Dr. Bloch learned the importance of keeping her body functioning at peak performance while staying injury-free. That concept provided the backbone for Dr. Bloch’s current practice, which focuses on overall health and wellness of body and mind.

Utilizing her more than 16 years of experience, Dr. Bloch specializes not only in rehabilitation and return from injury, but also injury prevention and strengthening. Dr. Bloch spent 6 years as the athletic trainer for multiple sports at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It was her expertise in helping an athlete’s body to work to its maximum potential that landed her on the Olympic Game’s Sports Medicine staff working as both an Athletic Trainer and Chiropractor.

Dr. Bloch worked with the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Water Polo teams in both the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics. Her impressive resume also includes working with athletes at the Pan Am Games in Rio de Janeiro, the Bobsled World Cup in Germany, athletes from a variety of sports at the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) national training center, the Women’s Professional Softball League, and several NCAA Division I athletes to name a few.

Dr. Erika Figge is a chiropractor and certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) from Orange County, California. She is also the co-owner, with Dr. Karen Bloch, of Complete Koncepts, a business aimed at injury prevention and creating personalized programs for teams and athletes. Dr. Figge is a graduate of USC where she was an All-American and National Champion water polo player. She represented Team USA from 2005 – 2011 and was the alternate for the Beijing Olympics. After experiencing several injuries and a hip repair, which all required a lot of effort in the rehab realm, Dr. Figge decided to return to school in 2014 to become a Doctor of Chiropractic and help others prevent and rehab injuries. Her focus in patient care and work with athletes is centered on active and functional rehab, giving the athlete more power over their own health and more responsibility in the injury prevention or rehabilitation process.

Dr. Figge currently plays water polo for the New York Athletic Club. She utilizes chiropractic care, the same active care plans she gives to her patients, and all of the modalities available at her clinic – HBOT, cryo sauna, percussion therapy, PEMF therapy and lumbar traction – in Long Beach, California in order to stay on top of her game and able to perform well in her sport. The ability to prepare, perform and recover well in something she takes seriously. She takes great pride in leading by example and being able to meet athletes where they are in order to help them reach their optimal goals.
